This wood and stone styled home offers 5 spacious bedrooms and is located at the top of Mount Pleasant, where you can enjoy privacy, stunning views while being just a 10-minute drive to the town of Port Elizabeth, and the beautiful and renowned Lower Bay Beach and Princess Margaret Beach. This is a unique, small island vacation experience. This villa is open air living, does not have air conditioning and with many solar panels is carbon neutral. It is great for families, couples and small groups that are looking to truly unwind. The Old Fort Estate is located on the private grounds of the historic Old Fort Estate property and shared with a separate 2-bedroom villa known as the Sugar House that can be rented separately or combined if your group requires 7 bedrooms. The property is located at the top of Mount Pleasant on the small and unique island of Bequia which is part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. To get here, fly to Argyle International airport, located in Kingstown St. Vincent. Then, a 30-minute taxi ride to catch the 1-hour ferry to Port Elizabeth, Bequia. On arrival, you will be greeted at the ferry and driven 10 minutes to the Plantation House Estate. You may also fly though Barbados and fly the direct shuttle to Bequia Airport.
The Old Fort Estate overlooks views of both the Atlantic Ocean, and Caribbean Sea. You will enjoy amazing views of Mustique, Petit Nevis, Canouan and many other islands. This villa experience offers privacy, with the convenience of being 10 minutes from groceries, shopping, dining, and the best beaches.
Driving is British, on left hand side. Car rental and taxi service are readily available. Currency is Eastern Caribbean and can be exchanged locally. US Dollars are widely accepted. Power is 220. The villa has some plugs on North American current however if you are traveling from North America, you may also want to bring some US-UK power adaptors.
It is a 10-minute drive to the main town of Port Elizabeth, the bars and restaurants of the Belmont Walkway, the calm waters and white sands of Princess Margaret Beach and Lower Bay Beach. There are also two neighbouring beaches known as Ravine Bay and Hope Bay, which serious hikers can hike to from the villa within 20-30 minutes.
The kitchen is open with gas stove, refrigerator, standard glassware, plates, cutlery, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, coffee press and blender. Water is potable and safe to drink.
The living area is open air living with ambient lighting and a large flatscreen television. This opens to the veranda porch area which has 2 dining tables and a day bed. A few short steps and you are at the pool area with lounge chairs, and 2 large, covered cabanas and Bathroom and pool towels and all bedding linen are supplied.
Bedroom 1
The Primary Suite is very spacious and features 2 bedrooms. The first is a king-sized four-poster bed with a sitting room, library, and a large open-air balcony with ocean views. There is a second queen sized bedroom adjacent. The en-suite bathroom has a natural pebbled bathtub and shower. Both sleeping spaces have beautiful hardwood floors throughout with high arched hardwood ceilings. Entrance is from within the main house.
Bedroom 2
Also known as the Planters Room has hardwood floors throughout and offers a sitting area, a king-sized four-poster bed, and en-suite bathroom with shower. Entrance is accessible from within and outside the main house. The Planters Room is beside the Primary room and a few steps to access to the main living and dining area.
Bedroom 3
Also known as the Honey Suite, is located in the middle of the central tower and offers a private, romantic atmosphere due to its ambience and surrounding stone walls. It has a four-poster king-sized bed, a sitting area, and an en-suite bathroom with shower. Entrance is from the side of the plantation house above the Planters Room.
Bedroom 4
Also known as The Top Tower room, it has a unique art deco style design. Furnished with a king size bed, ensuite bathroom and shower. From the bed is a full open air window giving guests a breathtaking view. Entrance is from a private stairway above the Honey Suite.
The beautifully designed bedrooms offer open-air living. Each bed is covered with nets for a captivating Caribbean experience. The owner of the property also lives on the estate from time to time in separate quarters and is both very knowledgeable and respectful of your privacy.
Enjoy the natural surroundings highlighted by the saltwater pool with breathtaking views of the islands of Mustique, Petit Nevis, Canouan and many others. The pool area features lounge chairs and 2 large, covered cabanas.
This estate property has several comfortable sitting areas, terraces, and balconies, surrounded by abundant lush gardens, including tropical fruit trees, local plants, numerous bird species, land turtles and brightly coloured iguanas. You are welcome to walk and explore the Estate property at your leisure.

30% of the total reservation including all taxes and fees is due at the time of booking and payable by Visa or MasterCard. Balance is due 90 days prior to date of arrival and can be paid by cheque or bank wire transfer to Private Villa Rentals.
