Only a 10 minute drive to both Tortola’s capital and airport Rhumb House sits on a 2 acre estate overlooking Paraquita and Brandywine Bays. Inside the Rhumb House’s entry gate is a flagstone walkway that takes you through tropical gardens and Koi ponds and overlooks a 180 degree view of the Caribbean Sea with outer islands and cays. Double doors open into a large foyer with a garden of ginger and ferns. A comfortable sitting area looks out at the ocean; with French doors leading to the terrace, here you will find an outdoor dining area and pool. The foyer area also has a powder room. The estates air-conditioned drawing room where the spectacular ocean view fills arched windows above cushioned window seats.

The formal dining room is just steps away. With an impressive dome set into the ceiling and inlaid with exotic woods canopies the Regency-style dining table, seating up to 16. A sound system provides music inside, and via speakers by the pool, the master bedroom and at the outdoor patio. The large doors open out to terraces, a reflecting pool and lush gardens on three sides, and a planter of palms with a skylight above borders the fourth side of this room. The kitchen, completely redecorated in 2016, is efficiently laid out and well-equipped with Sub-Zero fridge, double ovens,state-of-the-art appliances, custom cabinetry and quartz counter-tops.

Just off from the main entry room on the other side of the atrium is the first air-conditioned Bedroom with en-suite bath. The room can be made up as a King Bed or 2 twin beds. The large bathroom has been decorated in Caribbean blue and green with a walk in sunken shower which you can view the gardens from a sun drench arched window. The 2nd Air-conditioned Bedroom and bath is next door, accessed by one of Rhumb large flat stepping stone walkway that has a shallow koi pond with water lilies and plants overhead. The bedroom offers an idyllic private sitting area, a bamboo king half-poster bed, a colorfully-tiled bath and connecting door to Bedroom 1 (perfect for parents with children), and it shares a breezy terrace with Bedroom 1. A lily pond's stepping stones goes on past a lion's head fountain to the air-conditioned office and well-stocked library, there are two desks under windows let you enjoy the incredible vistas. The path leads you over a bridge to a charming living room with beautiful art and hand painted shutters. The room contains comfortable sofas and chairs. Bedroom 3 is a King suite with air conditioning with four poster bed and private terrace with views of Sir Francis Drake Channel.

The adjoining bath is spacious, completely tiled in a tropical theme of aqua, pink and yellow. Across the hall is air-conditioned Bedroom 4, a lovely bamboo four-poster king suite with an En-suite bath done in a yellow, lavender and aqua tile design.

Fully Air-conditioned Bedroom 5, a king suite with its own balcony, overlooks the pool terrace and Brandywine Bay. The large adjoining bath is completely tiled tropical colors of turquoise, lavender and yellow. Finally, the air conditioned king Master Suite. This room is furnished in lavender and white with a marble floor and large master bathroom with 2 showers and views of the Caribbean Sea. The beautiful Master Suite opens onto the pool deck via French doors but also has its own private terrace. Each bedroom has its own hair dryer. A Game Room can be found down an exterior staircase from the main stepping stone corridor where you will find an outdoor pool table, bocce court and patio. Snorkel gear for up to 10 persons is also provided (it is suggested that guests bring their own masks, as the fit is always best with your own equipment).

Rhumb House is a beautiful estate, very private, there is no public road through it, with the well laid out landscaping in its secluded and dramatic setting. Blue ocean views below blue Caribbean skies are always magical, and sunset skies are spectacular from the terrace. The Furnishings and fine detailing are unique and charming. There's plenty of room and privacy for everyone to enjoy... Rhumb House is the perfect villa vacation to enjoy the island life in elegance.

There is a mandatory 10% service charge for all Rhumb House rentals.

Below the Rhumb House parking area sits a small guest cottage, occupied by Pearl, who has resided here at least 30 years. Your privacy is always assured, but Pearl is available to answer any questions or assist if there is an emergency.
Rhumb House is behind a manual gate and is enclosed by fencing, thick vegetation and cacti, creating a private estate.

Children 5 and over only at Rhumb House, please (except with dedicated nanny traveling and staying with you at Rhumb House).

Liability Waiver required for all children under 12 years of age.

Maid service delivered 6 times per week Mondays through Saturdays (except holidays).
